2017 Story Review

As we are about to slip into a new year, it is a good time to review the year that is about to pass into history. These are the stories that I covered in 2017.

 

  Fitness: Activity in History  The physical activities that kept our ancestors fit, or not.  

 A Story of Vancouver in the ‘70s  A personal look back to a time in the city in the 70s.

 Age and Fashion in History What was the dress code for the older members of society in the past?

 The Story from the Census and Beyond or “You’re in the Army Now”

 The story of one man's experience in the British Army as pieced together from available records.

 

Laying the Groundwork 

Preparing for a research trip and conference in the eastern part of Canada.

Bringing It Home 

An initial assessment of what was learned at the conference and on the trip back east.  

 A Time in Old Ontario 

 The story of the writer's early ancestors in Ontario who came from New York State.

 

My ancestors have pointed the way to many different events in history in different countries. I look forward to uncovering more history and writing up the stories in 2018.
