Angie Littlefield’s new book came along at a good time. I wanted
to get back into writing about the history behind my Canadian roots. Tom Thomson’s Fine Kettle of Friends is
sure to contain new family clues.
It will be great to delve into the book but that will have
to wait. I am in prep mode for a research trip. Traveling researchers will
know what I am talking about. Most times it takes longer to get ready for a
trip than it does doing the research on the trip. On this trip, my research time will be
limited so I have to make sure that I know what I am looking for and where to
find it.
Part of the trip will also take in the Great Canadian Genealogy
Summit. There were lots of sessions to chose from but I am looking forward to
finding out more about:
- Using DNA in genealogical research
- The Acadians
- New England Planters and Loyalists
- And more
Maybe I should find out some more background on those subjects
before I head to Halifax. Stay tuned for more Canadian content as I delve into background information to underpin my research and the summit sessions.
