Pubs and Beyond

I hope that you enjoyed the articles about “Pubs and the Publican”. I learned a lot about what went on behind the scenes in the pub, the regulations the publican had to deal with and what was going on in the trade and the changes it experienced through the years. I gained a new found respect for my publican ancestors. They had so much to contend with that it is amazing that they stayed in business for so many years; 37 years at the Hearts of Oak for my gran at the time of the Anchor Magazine interview.

It’s time to research another topic. Something to do with cars this time, I think. Have a look at the next few posts while I hit the books.
